Pond Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintaining a Clean Pond Environment

The following environmentally friendly pond cleaning products will result in more immediate pond cleaning results. • All-Season Pond Bacteria (Dissolvable Blocks) and All-Season Pond Bacteria with Barley Straw (Water-Soluble Packets): These beneficial pond bacteria formulations clean and maintain ponds the natural way. They contain naturally occurring, beneficial pond bacteria species that break down and eliminate decaying plant material and other types of organic wastes, which in turn eliminates murky water and bottom sludge (muck). In addition, these beneficial bacteria also reduce problem nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate. They also reduce odors and will help balance a pond’s natural eco system. These environmentally friendly pond cleaning products are safe and natural and can be used in golf course ponds and lakes – even irrigation lakes, as they are safe to apply to water that is being used to irrigate turfgrass. After the initial application, you should begin to see water clarity start to increase within the first week.
• Super’s Choice Concentrated Water Clarifier: This water clarifier is a concentrated flocculant, ideal for cleaning mud and clay particles in golf course ponds and lakes. This product is safe for use in irrigation lakes and ornamental ponds and will help pull together small, suspended particles (organic and inorganic particles) so they can become larger, heavier particles and can settle to the bottom of the pond. After the initial application, you should begin to see water clarity start to increase within 24-48 hours.
• Super’s Choice Natural Phosphate Binder: This natural phosphate binder is a chemical-free alternative to aluminum sulfate (ALUM), for reducing excess phosphate levels in pond water. Unlike ALUM, this safe and effective formula also offers over 70 trace minerals and offers minor flocculation and settling of mud and clay particles.
• Super’s Choice Concentrated Pond Dye: Concentrated pond dye (lake colorant) can be used to improve the overall aesthetic appearance of pond and lake water. This non-staining product is safe for humans, animals, and plants. Concentrated pond dye can be used in ornamental ponds and irrigation lakes on golf courses or country clubs to improve the overall look of water features. This formulation is safe to use in irrigation lakes since it is the same formulation (just three times more concentrated) as we offer for spray indicator dye.
